A 19-year-old woman who was a first-time mother and her newborn baby passed aqway only hours apart after the young woman fell in her mother’s arms at home.
On January 31, Mellodie-Ocean Jarman reported feeling weak and dizzy when she was on her way to a regular prenatal screening. According to her relatives, who spoke with South West News Service via The Daily Mail, she was given medicine, including antibiotics, and went home. However, her health worsened later that evening.
The teenager called emergency services at 11:20 p.m. because she was having difficulty breathing and seeing. Jarman fell into her mother Justine Ryan’s arms as they were waiting for an ambulance to come.
In the English town of Atherton, paramedics came to Jarman’s house and attempted to resuscitate him using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). They hurried her to the hospital, where she had an emergency C-section to give birth to her daughter, Athena-Pearl, seven weeks ahead of schedule.
Jarman passed away around 80 minutes after Athena-Pearl was born at 12:32 a.m. on February 2.
Steven Darby, her uncle, told the publication, “She was a healthy 19-year-old with no health complications, so we just can’t comprehend what has happened.” “Right now, we don’t know anything until an investigation finds out exactly what happened.”
A few hours later, at 4 a.m., the family got a call informing them that Athena-Pearl was “deteriorating.” According to Darby, it was when the family contacted a priest to get the infant baptized.
Daniel Darbyshire, who is 18 years old and Jarman’s boyfriend, was allowed to spend some time with his daughter before she passed at 6:30 p.m.
According to a GoFundMe that was created to help the family, Athena-Pearl was put in her mother’s arms. “We were finally able to place Mellodie’s daughter in her arms as the machines fell silent. It was a gut-wrenching gift after what felt like an eternity of anguish.” They slipped into an everlasting slumber, held together by an unbreakable link of love that surpasses anything else.
Ryan, Jarman’s mother, said that her daughter was aware of “what she wanted in life and always found the banter and funny side in things.” She was quite a character.
